Harold Love served 25 years with the Michigan State Police before retiring as a Captain in 2013. He is a national board certified, fully licensed professional counselor (LPC), specializing in psychological testing and assessments, critical incident stress management, mental health wellness consultation, diagnosis and treatment planning, and behavioral health education. He is an active member of the Michigan and International Associations of Chiefs of Police, and served as a member and chair of the Michigan Board of Counseling from 2017 to 2021. He is the founder, owner, and a primary service provider for HJL&A.

Lolita Tucker served 22 ½ years with the Detroit Police Department, retiring as a Sergeant. She is also a proud veteran of the US Army, serving 7 ½ years. She is a Limited License Professional Counselor specializing in psychological testing and assessments, stress management, mental health wellness, diagnosis, and treatment planning. She is an active member of Disabled American Veterans-Department of Michigan, Kappa Epsilon Psi Military Sorority International, Inc., Detroit Police Lieutenants and Sergeants, and Golden Key International Honor Society.

Dr. Smith is a fully licensed social worker with over 17 years in clinical practice. He has served as an associate professor in social work at Oakland University in Rochester, MI, and didactic lecturer at the O.U. William Beaumont School of Medicine. He has also served as a psychiatric social worker at William Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak, MI since 2011. Dr. Smith has served as a reserve police officer with the Ferndale Police Department since 2011. He is an active service provider with HJL&A, specializing in crisis intervention, critical incident stress management, mental health wellness consultation, and behavioral health education.
Wayne Groves, MS, LPC

After a notable 33-year career with the Department of Justice, Drug Enforcement Agency, Wayne returned to his passion of helping people help themselves. Wayne is a State of Michigan fully licensed professional counselor. He supplements this license with a certification in gambling addiction from the Michigan Council on Gambling.
Wayne has a special kinship with the law enforcement and their unique traumas. This empathy is extended to the survivors/ beneficiaries of law enforcement personnel. Wayne received law enforcement trauma counseling from the Drug Enforcement Administration and was a Trauma Counselor during his employment. He augmented this education training with the Michigan Concerns of Police Survivors (COPS).
Wayne’s practice includes but is not limited to, PTSD. anger management, stress, depression, gambling, martial and grief counseling.
Wayne is committed to helping you recognize opportunities to manage emotional behavior and that everyone can benefit from counseling at some point in their lives.
